It was a challenging day at the track for Lee, Jason and Preston Hire Racing. After suffering a deflating front Tyre in the official qualifying session Lee bought the ZB Holden home in 21st position. Jason then proceeded to start the first 20 lap sprint race of the dayfrom 21st making up a handful of positions in the first two laps as well as showing enough pace to be the 10th fastest car in the session before being tagged by Warren Luff coming onto the straight resulting in a spin and impact with the fence that ruled him out of the rest of the race. Along with cosmetic damage the team had to replace  damaged lower rear control arm as well as a front steering arm.
After starting the second sprint race from the rear of the grid through a lot of hard work Lee managed to fight back to 21st position ending the day where the team had started. He also set a top ten time with the 9th fastest lap of the day.
